Extracts from Letters

"Inclosed find a draft for five dollars from a small circle of students who are glad to add their little to help on the work of relief. We are far from any church or society, but feel we have so much to be thankful for that we must give it expression in some way."

"We are grateful for the opportunity to pay a little on the debt of love which we owe to every activity of the Christian Science movement, and thereby to support 'that institution' which so wonderfully to-day 'affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science' (Science and Health, p. 583). In doing this we are beginning to see how 'beautiful for situation' our church is.

"Please divide the amount of inclosed check between the Real Estate, the Christian Science Benevolent Association, and the War Relief funds."
