Among the Churches
Current Notes
Cleveland, Ohio.—Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, is under construction at the northeast corner of East 105th Street and Fairmount Avenue N. E. An auditorium, 68 by 130 feet in size, will, with the balcony, provide seating capacity for approximately fifteen hundred persons. The Sunday school will contain forty-seven classrooms, an auditorium 32 by 80 feet in size, and will accommodate from eight hundred to one thousand pupils. The building will cost approximately three hundred and fifty thousand dollars. The church property has a frontage of 190 feet on East 105th Street and a depth of 170 feet on Fairmount Avenue. The new edifice of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Euclid Avenue and East 77th Street, is nearing completion, while the lot for First Church of Christ, Scientist, has been staked off on Eucled Avenue at the easterly entrance of Wade
Park.—Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Richmond Hill, N. Y.—At a corporate meeting of First Church of Christ, Scientist, held October 8, it was unanimously decided to abandon plans for extensive alterations on the present church structure and, instead, to remodel the building standing on the land adjoining the church property on the rear and facing Chestnut Street. The remodeling is about complete, giving an auditorium which will seat one hundred or more, and will be used for Sunday school, also for Wednesday evening meetings.
