A speaker in addressing a conference in Buck's Assembly...

Watford (England) Post and Echo

A speaker in addressing a conference in Buck's Assembly recently, made, according to report, the following remark on Christian Science: "One bad effect produced by Christian Science was the loss of a sense of reality which left them in a very morbid state, and that condition had a very bad effect upon the health of mind and body." The reverse of this is true. Christian Science explains reality intelligently, as no other religion does. It promotes love, joy, peace, and happiness in the individual and in the community. It heals the sick and sinning, and enables the student to gain such a practical understanding of God as infinite divine Love, as to be able to prove this, according to his understanding, in his daily life.

If there is one thing that is generally admitted, even by the critics of Christian Science, it is that Christian Scientists are a very happy body of people. "They always seem to see the bright side of things," is a very common remark about them. This is true, for they have found in Christian Science a reasonable and practical method of solving every problem that may arise.

Christian Science is the teaching of Jesus put into practice. The world has got to acknowledge that the way of the Master is the only right way out of the bondage of sin, disease, and death. The cry goes up, How long will humanity experiment with every way but the right one in trying to find a solace for its woes? The unprecedented growth of Christian Science is not to be wondered at, since it is meeting the world's great need in overcoming sorrow, sickness, and sin.
