With a heart full of gratitude I write this testimony in regard to two wonderful healings which took place in our family through Christian Science in 1913. The first was that of our youngest child. He had been ailing for some time, and when we had to call a physician he said it was a case of diseased tonsils. Several material remedies which he prescribed were tried, but none of them was successful. After over a week's time this physician's services were discontinued, and one who had been recommended to me as a baby specialist was called. He pronounced the trouble rheumatism, caused from the diseased tonsils, and stated that it would be a very slow case. But the little boy grew worse every minute, the tonsils being so swollen by the next day that it was almost impossible for him to breathe, and the only rest he could get was when I held him in an upright position. I had heard of Christian Science, and it came to me that I must try it, so I hurried to the nearest telephone and called for help. Under the practitioner's care my little boy was healed perfectly in a few treatments.
For over a year one of my eyes had been causing me great distress, but I had lost all hope of its being any better, for I had been treated by two of the best eye specialists here without a particle of benefit. One physician diagnosed the case as a cataract. After my child's healing I decided to try Christian Science for my eye. Immediately I began to study Science and Health, and with absent treatment from the practitioner my eye was completely healed. I do sewing and fancy work of all kinds now with the greatest of ease. I discarded my glasses soon after beginning the treatments, and have not had them on since, although at the time Christian Science treatment was begun I was almost blind in the affected eye. For the many ways that Christian Science has helped me and mine I am most truly thankful to God.
