We who are constant recipients of the blessings of divine Love...

We who are constant recipients of the blessings of divine Love should show and express our gratitude for help received. A feeling of gratitude surges over me when I think of my condition now as compared with what it was two years ago, and I daily breathe a prayer of thanksgiving for the understanding that health, happiness, and strength are like the sunshine,—they belong to one person as much as to another.

As one who has been brought back from "the valley of the shadow of death" through the power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science, I would indeed be ungrateful were I not to make public acknowledgment thereof. Constant grieving over a loss brought about the condition in which I finally found myself. In July, 1914, I was brought from the mountains in an apparently dying condition. The doctor stated that there was absolutely no hope for me, my condition having been diagnosed as lung trouble of a quickly developing nature, accompanied by serious heart trouble. My sister then telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, and with one absent treatment I was brought out of these troubles.

A month later I was confronted with other ailments,—gallstones and acute lung trouble. The former was overcome in one treatment, but the latter was slower in yielding. It took a little child to awaken me. One day she stood by my bed and said, "Auntie, wake up; it is only a make-believe, because God did not make it."
