On Aug. 19, 1912, we were expecting some friends to spend the week end with us, and I did not know how I was going to entertain them, as I had been suffering extremely from a stomach trouble, fainting away until life seemed hardly worth the struggle. I therefore telephoned to a lady who I knew was a Christian Science practitioner, and asked if I might go over to see her, as I wanted some help. I did not know what treatment was, and only expected help for two or three days. The practitioner talked about the Bible and of its wonderful promises, which I believed as far as I understood them, for I had always considered myself a pretty good Christian. Incidentally, I may say that Christian Science took this conceit out of me, for which I am most grateful.

The practitioner treated me, and I had to admit that I felt better. Since then I have come to know and have proved that God heals every discordant condition. I have been healed of stomach disorder of years' standing, also of eye trouble, nervousness, a great sense of separation as well as lack of supply, and have proved that God is Love, Life, Truth. I am most grateful for the knowledge of God as ever present rather than afar off, and to know that He does answer prayer if we are obedient to the divine law.

My love for God cannot be expressed in words, or my gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who was so pure that she could show the way in this age to a practical religion which is provable to those who seek.
