One of my little girls said to me not long ago, after reading some of the testimonies in our periodicals: "Mother, why don't we write a testimony? Christian Science has done so much for us." And I thought, Why, indeed!

Christian Science came to me a number of years ago, when I was greatly in need of help and guidance, both physical and mental, and it met my need wonderfully. Through the years that followed, though at times almost resenting what seemed the hard sayings of Science, I was never able to get very far away from the gleam of understanding I had of its teachings. Looking back I can see now how divine Love was guiding, and can truly say I am thankful for all the varied and many times seemingly bitter experiences through which I passed.

I was not brought up a Christian, but the reading of Science and Health gave me a God in whom I could believe. It gave me the Bible, and taught me how and why its truths were for me in the present as well as for a people in the remote past. If Christian Science had done nothing else for me but this, I should feel that I owed our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, an endless debt of gratitude; but for many years it has been my only religion and my only physician. My two children do not know by experience what medicine means, and are daily learning how to put into practice the lessons learned in Sunday school. We have had many opportunities of proving the efficacy of Christian Science as a "very present help in trouble."
