An evangelist again assails what he thinks Christian Science...
Zanesville (Ohio) Signal
An evangelist again assails what he thinks Christian Science to be. Christian Scientists are not seeking to force their religious views upon any one. Most people who turn to it have failed to obtain help from physicians and are dissatisfied with the general religious teachings. They longed for greater spirituality, and Christian Science has met this great need.
This critic seems to think that Christian Science is of the devil. Jesus came teaching a gospel that both healed the sick and reformed the sinner, and he proved his teaching to be true. Because he taught a practical Christianity he was accused of doing his healing work through Beelzebub. Christian Scientists preach and teach the same gospel. Jesus said, "If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?"
Christian Science is leading mankind to God and planting their feet more firmly upon the rock, Christ. If Christian Science is of the devil, it could not lead mankind to God. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy is being understood by hundreds of thousands, who testify that its teaching brings surcease from sorrow, also peace, health, and happiness. A teaching that is based upon the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount cannot bring both blessing and cursing. Christian Science is bringing untold blessings to mankind, and therefore could not possibly damn or injure any one as this critic avers.
