The Kent (Wash.) Advertiser
It is to be especially regretted that any one writing on behalf of the labor unions should give expression to a false concept of Christian Science, for the simple reason that Christian Science is the greatest force toward absolute justice between employer and employee in the world today. On page 226 of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy refers to Christian Science as "the voice of the herald of this new crusade" that "sounded the keynote of universal freedom, asking a fuller acknowledgment of the rights of man as a Son of God;" and on page 340 she points out that obedience to the First Commandment annihilates "whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes." That the practice of Christian Science is consistent with this teaching is evidenced by the well known fact that everywhere Christian Scientists are found in the forefront of those who labor for the betterment of all mankind.
