While the teaching of Christian Science disavows the need of any material means as a healing agency, yet it grants to every one the fullest freedom to choose for himself whatever system or method of healing he desires; and this same rule of individual liberty applies to all the affairs of human experience. Christian Science emphasizes and makes plain the rules of life given us by the Master, and these rules are not subject to degrees of change to suit the whims and wishes of any person.

As Christian Science is a religion of love, its very nature is to unite and cement more closely the affections of those who live it. Divine Love is expressed in charity, and Christians never criticize or condemn those who have accepted the Christ as their ideal and high goal, although they may make mistakes in the application of his teachings.
