A new world opened up for me after reading the chapter entitled Prayer in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had heard of one person who was healed by reading this book, and that seemed very strange to me. Another spoke of having investigated Christian Science thoroughly and found nothing in it. Accordingly I determined to find out for myself, so before retiring one night I read the book with the thought that if I could only have a proof of its truth I would gladly accept it.

In the morning I found myself free from a disease of ten years' standing which was making my life miserable, and which was believed to be hereditary. The healing seemed too good to be true, and three days passed before I was perfectly convinced of its truth and threw away all my material remedies. In the ten years that have followed, I have never had any need of them. Severe headaches, rose cold, and neuritis have also been overcome. I coughed most of the time and my family feared lung trouble, but this all disappeared when I learned of the truth that makes free. Children are a joy in the home when one does not fear for them continually. I used to be always apprehensive of trouble in some form coming to them, but that is now changed and replaced with a peace that is enduring. Whooping-cough, mumps, measles, and nasal growths have been beautifully overcome by turning to the great Physician, who healeth all our diseases.

Actively to give out to others is the only way I can show my gratitude for all the good that has come into my life.
