William R. Rathvon delivered a lecture on Christian Science to a large and attentive audience in the Municipal Auditorium. The lecture was given under the auspices of First Church of Christ, Scientist. In introducing the speaker the second reader of the church spoke as follows:—

When the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, when they seemed hemmed in on all sides, the only answer God gave to Moses was, "Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward." This command comes with equal force to us all. With the mighty hand of God were they delivered from the Egyptians. And if we wish to escape from the bondage of injustice, oppression, sin, sickness, sorrow, and poverty, and reach the kingdom of heaven, harmony, or right consciousness, then the movement must ever be onward and heavenward, rising ever higher in the spiritualized thought, where God is revealed. As our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 509), "The periods of spiritual ascension are the days and seasons of Mind's creation, in which beauty, sublimity, purity, and holiness—yea, the divine nature—appear in man and the universe never to disappear." Then to know God is to be in His kingdom, which heals and saves. And "of his kingdom there shall be no end."
