Nearly four years ago it was intimated to me by two good friends that what I was looking for was Christian Science. This was said in answer to a wearied complaint on my part that sermons and addresses were no good, and that I was tired of books and talk. I went, therefore, to the Christian Science church, and found in the interval for silent prayer an indescribable atmosphere of peace and rest ; it was good to be there. Afterward I bought a copy of Science and Health and asked a practitioner for help. As the weeks went by my health visibly improved, so that friends and acquaintances noticed how much better and happier I looked. Since that time physical difficulties have appeared that would have caused me to ask for medical help before knowing of Christian Science. These have been overcome without drugs, or any treatment but scientific prayer ; and with the physical healing the treatment has always brought great peace of mind.

My deepest thankfulness to God is for the power that comes with Christian Science to overcome wrong in one's self. All my life I have wanted to be good, but have struggled in vain with a morbid self-conscious temperament and a constant sense of failure. Christian Science is showing me the way out of this. I am learning how to look away from self and to find rest and hope in God ; also am learning more every day of what God is and of what man is. The Bible is full of new and vital meaning to me. I am lovingly grateful to the woman who was selfless enough to discover the key to the teachings of Jesus.
