My sister became afflicted at the age of eleven with what was pronounced a disease of the blood, and of which she had several returns increasingly severe. Every time she became thus afflicted she had to stay in bed several weeks, and on one occasion spent three months at a hospital. One day the disease again manifested itself, this time very severely and accompanied by high fever; and when much larger spots appeared than ever before, we sought the assistance of a Christian Science practitioner. After the first treatment the fever subsided, and with a few more treatments my sister was completely freed of the affliction. This was about seven years ago, and there has been no return of the illness during that time.

My brother was healed of rheumatism, an affection of the heart, and St. Vitus' dance, through Christian Science. When on one occasion he had a severe attack of rheumatism, he was taken to the hospital, where various means of relief were tried, none of which proved successful. Finally the physicians believed that hot baths might produce a cure. The effect, however, proved the very opposite, for heart trouble and St. Vitus' dance in the most aggravated form were the result, so that it seemed impossible he should ever be restored.

We had attended Christian Science services previous to this time, and in our distress now asked a practitioner for help. We told our brother that he should set all his hopes on God and that Christian Science treatment would be given him. The practitioner treated him absently, and from the first improvement was so marked that at the end of a few weeks he was able to leave the hospital healed, to everybody's surprise. At a conference of physicians before which my brother was brought and in which his disease was made the subject of a discussion, he became aware that his cure had caused the greatest astonishment among the medical men. This occurred about six years ago, and my brother has had no return of these or of any similar troubles since.
