The Lectures
The Rev. R. E. McKnight, in introducing Virgil O. Strickler, who lectured on Christian Science in the Oxnard Opera House, said:—
All fair-minded people who have investigated the subject will concede at least three things concerning Christian Science:
First, that no other religious belief has ever had such a rapid growth. Within the last half-century Christian Science has encircled the globe, numbering among its adherents people from all walks and conditions of life and notably many of the most intelligent and spiritually minded men and women of this age. Second, that Christian Science, because of the purity and spirituality of its teachings, tends to elevate, ennoble, and refine, producing characters whose practical Christianity is manifested in their daily lives. Third, that Christian Scientists are the happiest people on earth, radiating sunshine wherever they go.
