I became acquainted with the benefits which Christian Science bestows upon mankind following a serious illness of my husband. He applied for treatment to a Christian Science practitioner in our city, who proved to be as kind as she was competent, and very naturally I expressed the desire to be of assistance to my husband in his reading of that incomparable book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. He experienced healing and was happy to be able to give his testimony in June, 1913.

At that time I was afflicted with nervous troubles which led to many complications. I had consulted several physicians, who made me take drug after drug, though without any result whatsoever. Electric treatment to which I finally resorted brought temporary relief but no cure. While helping my husband, I recognized that the possibility of better acquainting myself with the truth lay entirely with me, and having partially awakened I did not hesitate to put myself under the care of Christian Science practitioner. Our united efforts and perseverance were crowned with success, and my understanding, which until then had been dormant, was completely awakened. Truth overcame the inharmony within a few weeks. I was healed, free from the grievous troubles which had beset me. Today I am a new woman, ready to combat every error and striving to attain the ultimate of spiritual and scientific understanding. Words fail to express my appreciation for the benefits made available through the Christian Science text-book, which every one should know and study.

I am profoundly grateful to God for the moral and physical healing which has come to me through an enlightened faith—a faith which I daily ask Him to strengthen and enlarge, for through it alone can we become better men and women; through it we shall be able to heal our ills and rid ourselves of error of all kinds without any material support, and attain unto perfection. The help derived through Christian Science is so precious, not only for ourselves as individuals but for one's whole family and environment, that I cannot refrain from telling the following experience. The arrival of a baby was expected with much joy in the home of our nearest relative. Circumstances were most propitious, and the coming of the little one took place under the best possible conditions. Nothing led us to expect a bad turn, hence considerable anxiety was felt when word came over the telephone that the mother's condition had suddenly become most serious. After a moment's reflection and prayer I communicated with the practitioner, and with her help we were enabled to hold to right and pure concepts and to realize that through God, Principle, we can banish all fear and win the victory. Mother and child are today in perfect health, and the consciousness of God's goodness and omnipotence is to us a source of deep joy.
