I am not a Christian Scientist, but I would like to ask the clerical critic if he ever attended a Christian Science meeting and if he knows anything whatever about the Christian Science creed. If he ever did attend a meeting, he will agree with me that he never saw a more intelligent body of people in any audience in any community. If Christian Science is wrong and condemned to perdition, why is it that the number of its adherents is increasing by leaps and bounds without solicitation, and that the most enlightened and best people of the country are becoming interested? Christian Scientists never ask any one to join their church. How is it with other Christian churches, where the members are dissatisfied and are getting up where they can see the light?

Let us be reasonable. Let us have religious liberty and worship according to the dictates of our own conscience, and let the other fellow alone. If all our members leave us because they are not satisfied, why let them go, and after a while we may see the light and follow them. No church will save us. It is not necessary to belong to any church to be saved. We can do good anywhere and everywhere, and that is my real religion. "God helps them that help themselves."
