When I came into Christian Science five years ago, I had...
When I came into Christian Science five years ago, I had a severe stomach trouble which the doctors said nothing but an operation would relieve. I could not digest my food, and in consequence was put on the strictest diet. At that time my husband had what materia medica calls locomotor ataxia, and he could walk only a very short distance without resting. We had the very best doctors, and they all said there was no hope or help for him, as there had never been a case of that kind cured in medical history, but that he might possibly live one year.
It was at that dark hour, when all earthly hope had fled, that a letter came from a cousin who had been healed of tubercular disease, asking me to try Christian Science. At once I turned to God for help, and at the end of a week I was entirely healed, and the healing has been permanent. I am today a well, healthy woman. Since that time, I have not taken a single dose of medicine or had a doctor. My husband, in due time, came into Christian Science, and he is now almost well. He attends to his business and can walk as far as any one. We have both taken a strong stand for Truth, and Truth alone governs our home. Our blessings financially as well as spiritually have been many, and we are striving each day to live closer to God, ever feeling that His arms are around, above, and beneath us.
