About two years ago I manifested the first symptoms of a most serious though painless disease. I immediately consulted a very able specialist, who after stating definitely that it was a case of diabetes and a very serious one at that, gave me all sorts of prescriptions and imposed all manner of restrictions. Although I observed these strictly, my condition grew worse with every day, and it seemed that I must expect death in the near future.

At that time I heard of Christian Science through a family with whom I was on friendly terms, and was told that healing was possible for me through the power of Truth. I could not, however, make up my mind to turn to it, but continued having treatment from the specialist, who now gave me hypodermics, and resorted to a great many other experiments. To make the measure full, I had "a stroke," which affected the right side of the body and robbed me of the use of my limbs. My tongue also was paralyzed, making it very difficult for me to communicate with those around me. In this state of distress I decided to apply to a Christian Science practitioner for help. It was most readily given, and after the first treatment my condition improved so much that it became possible for me to undertake a trip to Braunschweig in order to call on the practitioner. In four months' time I was completely healed and able to attend to all my work. No longer is there any need of a physician. I have also been healed spiritually through Christian Science. I have found God, and am striving to obey the Master's command, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect," in order that I may not only draw nearer to Him but may be found more and more in His likeness.

I give thanks daily to God for this wonderful salvation, and above all things that I may now call myself His child. I am grateful also to that admirable woman who rediscovered this truth and presented it to the world.
