Being deeply grateful for what Christian Science teaching...
Being deeply grateful for what Christian Science teaching has done for me, I cheerfully give this testimony, thus to fulfil the law of Love, with the hope that I may encourage others who are in sickness and sorrow to study Science and Health and be made free.
My coming into Christian Science was through the healing of an illness which the doctors called a serious stomach trouble and bronchial asthma. I had suffered for over a year, and had tried every material remedy brought to my notice, also several doctors, but received no relief; on the contrary, I continued to get worse. When I heard of Christian Science, I decided as a last hope to give it a trial. Before I went to a practitioner I had suffered severely, had not been able to lie down at any time for several weeks, and had been unable to eat anything but light food. After visiting this practitioner three times, I was able to lie down to sleep, and have done so every night since. With not more than six treatments I was entirely healed of both ailments. The only hope of relief which doctors had for me was to leave this climate for a warmer country; but after reading in Science and Health, I began to see my error in trusting to the material instead of in God, who is ever-present Love.
