Words fail to describe the manifold blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. The more I become acquainted with its wonderful and profoundly religious teachings, the deeper grows my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy and my admiration for her who was pure and unselfish enough to be the means of bringing again to the world the truth of spiritual law and causation as taught by Jesus.

I had been a great sufferer in years past, and had consulted many specialists without ever experiencing any lasting benefit. Then ill fortune came upon me, and in these hours of deepest sorrow I was led to Christian Science. I had long talks with a practitioner; and although it soon became clear to me that healing and comfort could be found here, yet I was assailed by many doubts. The practitioner answered my questions with untiring love and patience, and elucidated the subject to me, so that I gradually discerned the fact that man in the image and likeness of God is indeed His "offspring," as St. Paul says, and that under God's providence and protecting care we have nothing to fear. I earnestly endeavored to bring my thoughts and actions into harmony with Christian Science, but after about a year had elapsed, one of the old ailments, nervous debility, attended by great fear and spells of dizziness, manifested itself again. I immediately began to work in Christian Science, but seemed unable to cope with the trouble, so finally I had to ask the practitioner to assist me. With two treatments the difficulty was overcome, and I have been well during the five years which have since elapsed.

We had a beautiful demonstration several years ago, in the case of my son. One morning a foreign substance got into his eye, causing great pain. I was away on a trip, and the boy, following an impulse of fear, went to a physician. The latter, however, not only did not succeed in removing the splinter, but in his efforts to do so he injured the eyeball, and the pain became much more severe. It then occurred to my son to go to the local Christian Science practitioner. Unfortunately she, too, was away on a trip, and he therefore drove to a specialist, who kept him at his clinique, and told him that it usually took at least six to eight weeks for an injury of such a nature to heal, and that the eye would always retain a certain weakness.
