I wish to express my deep gratitude for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. Until about six years ago my mother was afflicted with diseases of all kinds, such as gall-stone, stomach and kidney trouble, etc. She consulted physicians from one year to another, but instead of improving she steadily grew worse. Friends who had been healed through Christian Science then gave my mother copies of Der Herold der Christian Science to read, and invited her to attend the Wednesday evening meetings. She did so, and was greatly impressed by this teaching, for she saw that God would be her help. She asked a practitioner to treat her, and after the first treatment she felt much better. In a short time these distressing ills disappeared completely, and my mother no longer needed to confine herself to any particular kind of food. About this time my dear father passed away, and we went through great financial stress; but this has also been overcome through the understanding that God provides for us. A serious eye trouble, which according to materia medica is very obstinate and painful, was healed with four absent treatments.

Some two and a half years ago I was led through my mother to investigate Christian Science. I was very skeptical at first with regard to this teaching, and I went to the meetings only to please my mother. After the third or fourth time, however, this wonderful Science awakened so much interest in me that I began to read the Herold diligently, besides taking English lessons with a view to becoming better acquainted with these teachings. Within a short time I was changed into a new person, to the surprise of those who knew me and who could not account for it. Whereas formerly I was inclined to be melancholy and gloomy and to worry about the future, I now grew perceptibly into a buoyant cheerfulness, looking upon this beautiful world with a changed vision. I applied to the faithful practitioner for help, as I had been suffering for years with bowel and stomach complaints, and with three treatments these ailments vanished.

Christian Science has brought me unnumbered blessings within the last months. Owing to unfavorable conditions I was obliged to give up my position; but having learned in Christian Science to put my trust in divine Love, to rely upon the infinite goodness of our Father-Mother God under all circumstances, I was not uneasy about other means of supply, and asked the practitioner to help me. Ten days before I gave up my position I had an opportunity to talk personally with her, and it became clear to me that through divine Love I could start a business of my own. Through I felt the lack of means for such a purpose, she assured me that God, divine Mind, is the only source of supply, that Love had helped me thus far and would continue to help me. I endeavored to hold the right thought, and a Christian Scientist very kindly put at my disposal the money needed and offered me a place in which to make a start. This was three days after my talk with the practitioner, and one week later I was running my own business. Deep gratitude filled my heart. Every day brings me new orders, and thanks to divine Love, I have more business than I ever dared hope for in the past.
