"Grow in grace"

The moment one recognizes the metaphysical fact revealed in Christian Science, that all real life is a manifestation of the activity of infinite Being, that moment he must realize that the phrase "an unprogressive life" involves a contradiction of terms.

Intelligence is forever alert, and to awaken to this inherent nature of every manifestation of Life is a primary requisite of spiritual progress. Said the Master, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." In other words, we live as we apprehend and manifest the divine Life. This truth is constantly emphasized in Christian Science, and a great nature student became so convinced of it, even by the intimations which he found in every-day experience, as to declare that "life must be a progressive revelation of truth, each generation must hold an original relation to the universe, each age have its own prophets and take destiny into its own hands."

Surely no one can observe the growth process of the flowers of the field without being impressed with the fulness, freshness, and fecundity of the forces to which they give expression. Every moment and at every point their movement is no less prodigious than clever. The nature expressed through "natural, spiritual law" (Science and Health, p. 240), offers no covert for inertness; indeed, nothing in the universe is still for an instant. The activities of the so-called atom, no less than those of "Arcturus with his sons," are telling ever of tireless Mind. From the heights to the depths of being a goal is forever in view, growth is the universal mandate, and even error simulates activity as a part of its deception.
