Nine years ago I had my first talk with a Christian Scientist while on a short visit with some friends in Milwaukee, Wis., U. S. A. That day stands out as a red-letter day in my life. I was with the Scientist only one hour, but I learned a great deal in that time. I believed in material remedies in those days, but she soon showed me that it was only my faith in drugs which produced the apparent result, so I determined to do as she advised and put all my faith in a loving God. I have done so ever since, and have never given another dose of medicine or used material remedies of any kind.

As time went on and I tried of follow Mrs. Eddy's teachings, my whole outlook on life changed. I became a better wife, mother, and neighbor by trying to be more patient and loving. I used to be troubled with an eruption on my face, but it has disappeared, and great nervousness had almost left me. Four years ago, what seemed the greatest trouble of my life came to me. My husband, one of the best and most indulgent, suddenly passed away. At first I was staggered and could not understand. Then Christian Science whispered "Peace" to me, and taught me how impossible it was that God should have sent this to me; so I lived on, and have been led most wonderfully through financial difficulties, trouble with lawyers, and many other problems.

No words in the English language can express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. In one of her hymns (Poems, p. 3) Mrs. Eddy says,—
