I desire to give public expression to my gratitude for the blessings received through Christian Science. For six years I suffered with sever stomach trouble, which increased in severity despite all the medicines taken upon the physicians' advice. Believing that hard work was detrimental to my health, I grew weaker and weaker. Later on I was taken with abdominal complaint and lay in bed for over three months, alternately at home and at the hospital. At the hospital I improved slowly, though only temporarily, and I was again obliged to seek medical aid. I went from one physician to another without being healed, and finally, after nine months had elapsed, I made up my mind to undergo an operation. This I did, but I was dismissed with the verdict that I would remain a sufferer all my life. To appearances this seemed true indeed, for I was confined to my bed for three months and hardly able to take even the lightest nourishment. During that time I was told that my lungs also were affected.

When I came home from the hospital, I found a copy of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," also copies of Der Herold der Christian Science, and upon reading these it became clear to me that healing would come only through the understanding of these teachings. After one treatment in Christian Science I was able to eat everything and to work without feeling that I was under a strain. I am very grateful indeed for all the good that has come to me through Christian Science.
