In writing of the countless blessings that my three years'...
In writing of the countless blessings that my three years' study of Christian Science has brought, it seems to me that I am writing personally to all who need help. It is my earnest wish that all who read this testimony may be helped to become free from discordant conditions, whether they be of sin, sickness, sorrow, or limitation.
The fourth in a family of eight, with loving and broadminded parents, it had always seemed that we were very greatly blessed, having most excellent health and cherishing deep love for each other. As we grew, we were allowed to choose for ourselves in a religious way, and taught to recognize the good in those of different thought. Since childhood, I have been a close Bible reader. At twelve years of age I united with the little church near my home, entirely of my own accord, but with my mother's approval.
It happened that my path led where I almost continually heard different views concerning religion, medicine, and politics discussed, always, however, by people who had made considerable study of their various beliefs. I always enjoyed these discussions, and thought them educative, for they showed me that another person's thoughts were as valuable to him as mine were to me. I was not influenced in any way by them, perhaps only broadened, for the every-day lives of some of these people showed plainly that they were making a right use of the good in their belief, and the rest was God's affair, not mine. The more I studied, the more I wondered, "What is the truth?" Back of all I knew there was a positive good, a certain truth, one exact answer, the ultimate fact!
