When we know of a disease having been healed in Christian Science which physicians pronounce incurable, such as locomotor ataxia, or creeping paralysis, I feel the testimony should be given. My father, who was ninety-one years of age, had spent his long life in preaching the gospel as he understood it, but in the later years he had known of some wonderful cures by Christian Science, among his friends and church-members, and he said he knew that Christian Science healed the sick. He called to me one morning, saying that he was slowly becoming paralyzed, and I found he was very much excited and full of fear. I said that something must be done immediately, and asked if he would like me to call a doctor. He said that from his knowledge of the disease, and the ill success of medical treatment, he would prefer Christian Science treatment, and this he had. For three or four days all his left side was very much affected, and we had to assist him in walking. He then had scarcely any use of his hand, but after that time he began to improve, and in less than two weeks he was entirely free. This was several years ago, and the healing from this trouble was permanent, though he has recently passed on at a very advanced age.

Since that time we have had many good and permanent cases of healing in our family. Three individuals who were very near and dear to me, and who suffered from illusions which made them fit subjects for an insane asylum, were saved from such fate by being healed in Christian Science. There are persons now living here whose eyes may fall upon these lines, who can testify to the truth of the latter statement. For these, and other cases of healing, too numerous to mention, I am deeply grateful to divine Truth, and grateful also for the life of the noble woman who toiled so bravely to give this knowledge to the world.
