I wish to add this testimony to those of the thousands...
I wish to add this testimony to those of the thousands who have been healed in Christian Science, and who have been made to see "a new heaven and a new earth" through the workings of a truth that is as eternal and omnipresent as the Father Himself. I was healed several years ago of a severe bowel trouble of six years' standing. Every material remedy of which we knew had been tried, also change of climate; but, like the woman who touched the hem of Christ's garment and who "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had," I was "nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." One of the best physicians in Chicago said that with special care my life might be prolonged a year or so, but that the case was incurable.
As a last resort I turned to Christian Science, which had been recommended to me by friends when my trouble first appeared, but which I had, in ignorance of its teachings, rejected. I went to see a practitioner, and his first words convinced me that he was telling me of the great truths of God, and in my hunger to learn more, I almost forgot the physical healing for which I had come. In a short time I was healed, not only of the bowel trouble but of many other ills. Christian Science indeed reveals "the living, palpitating presence of Christ, Truth, which healed the sick" (Science and Health, p. 351), and in gratitude that I have felt the touch of Truth and am well, I am endeavoring so to think and live that God may be glorified on the earth through me, as He is in heaven.
