With a very grateful heart I give the following testimony. For five years I was a sufferer from gall-stones and gravel of the kidneys, and was under medical treatment during that time. I had also been to the hospital and had two operations, but without permanent relief. The attacks would continue to manifest themselves periodically, and at such times my physical suffering would be most intense. In August, 1907, I was stricken with one of these attacks, and three doctors were called in consultation, who passed the death sentence upon me, saying nothing could be done for me, as I could not stand another operation. As I was suffering terribly all the time, the doctors gave me hypodermic injections which eased the pain somewhat, so that I could realize what was going on.

At this point I sent for a Christian Science practitioner and requested her to give me treatment; which she did. In a few minutes, during the first treatment, the vomiting was stopped, and the pain and suffering were overcome entirely. That was Saturday night, and on Monday morning I got up and have never been in bed on account of sickness since. I did my washing, in connection with my other household work, that same week, and have been doing it regularly ever since. I feel that I owe a very deep debt of gratitude to God, and also to our beloved Leader. Mrs. Eddy, for the many physical benefits and for the spiritual uplifting which has come to me through the study of the Holy Bible, by the aid of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
