THE READERS OF THE MOTHER CHURCH

As announced at the annual meeting of The Mother Church, the readers elected for the ensuing term of three years are:—

First reader, John C. Lathrop, C.S.B.

Second reader, Miss Grace E. Collins, C.S.B.

Mr. Lathrop comes to his work as first reader of The Mother Church thoroughly equipped for its duties. Born in Michigan in 1871, the son of Orvis C. and Laura Lathrop, he became a student of Christian Science in 1885, and was enrolled as a member of The Mother Church in 1895. He was a member of the last class taught by Mrs. Eddy, in 1898, and was twice called to be a member of her household for several months. Mr. Lathrop was in business from 1886 to 1896, when he began the practice of Christian Science in New York city, which has been his home for many years. In 1897 he was elected second reader of Second Church, New York, serving until 1902. In 1906 he was elected to the office of first reader in the same church, and served three years in that capacity.

Miss Collins is a native of Minnesota, and became interested in Christian Science while living in Duluth. She came to Boston about seven years ago to enter upon her work as practitioner and teacher. She is a graduate of the Massachusetts Metaphysical College and has been a member of The Mother Church since 1897.
