I feel I have delayed too long about writing to express in the Sentinel my loving gratitude to God for the health and happiness that have come to me through our dear Leader's wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I heard of it first in March, 1898, through the healing of a friend. At that time I was very delicate, and I seemed to have lost all faith in the existence of God and the spiritual world; but as I read, the long-lost happy faith of childhood returned to me, I seemed to rise and go to the Father, and like the son in the parable, love and joy came to meet me.

I had been troubled for some time by rheumatism in my right arm, and one morning I awoke to find the arm quite well. Several other physical troubles disappeared as I read, and in 1902 I was healed of measles almost instantaneously through the help of a practitioner whom I had at that time never seen. This lady was telegraphed to for help by a relative who had become alarmed, as my illness seemed very serious. The help was quick in coming, as that evening the fever left me, and the next day I was up and dressed, practically well, although still a little weak. I can never express in words my sense of the great debt I owe to dear Mrs. Eddy for showing me the way to escape from sorrow and suffering, for making me see the reality and power of the Master's words, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
