I have had many striking proofs of the healing power of the word of God, and am very grateful for the understanding, the true knowledge of God which has come to me through the earnest study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and our other authorized Christian Science literature. I am also grateful for the spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures thus gained. I had drifted to that stage where I doubted all creeds and did not believe in God, but by reading the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health, I was healed of a bowel disorder from which I had suffered for over ten years; and from that time, now over four years, I have never used medicine in any form or felt the need of it. My healing from one of the so-called incurable physical ills came slowly, for which I am now truly grateful, as it awakened me from my apathy and necessitated much prayerful thought and study, bringing me to a better understanding of the Bible and God's wonderful promises.

A little over two years ago I accidentally drank a glass of acid supposed to be deadly poison. The words of the Master, however, came to me, "If they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;" also the words of our Leader (Science and Health, p. 473), "God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power." In thus trying to realize that God is ever present and has all power, the poison was proved to me to be harmless. I have seen all manner of diseases disappear into their native nothingness when the light of Truth was brought to them, but most of all I am grateful for finding a God who is Love and an ever-present help. I am grateful for being able to love all of God's ideas and for knowing that I have no enemies, and for the privilege of abiding in that perfect peace which passes all human understanding. Words cannot express the gratitude and love I feel to God, the giver of every good and perfect gift, to Christ Jesus the Wayshower, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
