Many times have I thought of sending a testimony to the Sentinel, and at last my gratitude has found expression. Eight years ago Christian Science found my husband and myself slaves to materia medica, which afforded us scant relief from various ailments, such as chronic headaches, bowel, stomach, and kidney troubles; but these have entirely disappeared,—vanished into their native nothingness through Christian Science. Words cannot express the happiness, joy, and peace which have come into our home since we have found that God is not the creator of discord, but that He is Love, always kind and ever present. I had been taught from childhood that God punished us by sending sickness and sorrow for our good, and when I asked why it was so, I was told that some day (after death, I presume) I would understand. The day of understanding has come, and with it the knowing that God sends naught but good, and that sin, disease, and death are un-Godlike; therefore, unreal.
At present I am enjoying the blessed privilege of serving as reader in our society, and what it means to do this sacred work only those who have had the blessing can tell. My prayer daily is for that Mind to be in me "which was also in Christ Jesus," and to do my work lovingly, meekly, prayerfully, for only by so doing can I show my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader for the message of salvation which she has given us.
Mrs. Florence Pearson Koontz, San Pedro, Cal.
