I feel it my duty to tell of the help received through...
I feel it my duty to tell of the help received through Christian Science in the eleven years since it came to me. I had what medical men called Bright's disease, one symptom which the doctors did not understand being severe pain in my back. It would take me so suddenly at times that I was helpless. I have been kept under opiates, administered hypodermically, for two and a half days. I had these attacks occasionally for about three years, but after the first treatment in Christian Science I had no further trouble with them. I had become a slave to the opiate taken for distress in the bladder, so that I depended upon it for strength to do my work. I had two young children at the time and my husband was getting only a small salary, so I was obliged to do all that I could.
My healing was slow; it was five years before the last symptom disappeared. I am now trying to show my gratitude by living the life of a true Christian Scientist as I grasp the understanding through study of the Bible and the Christian Science text-book. I am very thankful to God, and also to our Leader for the wonderful help I have received in Christian Science.
