About two years ago I was unable to sit up even for fifteen minutes without suffering great pain. I was extremely nervous, had severe stomach and heart trouble, to which sleeplessness was added. My speech became unintelligible, the action of the heart weaker, and my memory seemed to fade away. The physician had told my wife that a serious attack might be expected at any time, and I myself felt that my days were numbered. For thirteen years I had been a strong adherent of a dietetic method of cure, until I found in my own case that this method, as well as those of all the sanitariums I had gone to, brought no relief. Finally I applied to a Christian Science practitioner; and how glad I am that I did! Whereas my health was rapidly failing, I recovered, despite the fact that I had hard service at the time. Since then I have been able to attend to my duties without interruption through illness.

My wife suffered a severe and deep burn on her arm, but through Christian Science treatment the wound healed up completely within two weeks, without suppuration. My daughter fell while playing in the schoolyard, and sustained severe injuries. We had the physician stitch the cut, and Christian Science treatment was then given, with the result that the wound healed within six days without any inflammation, much to the surprise of the physician, who for quite a while after feared it might set in. Last winter my daughter was taken ill with a severe throat trouble which according to prevalent beliefs can be healed only by having an operation performed, but thanks to Christian Science this trouble was overcome in a comparatively short time.

Besides the healing which we have experienced in a physical way, inward peace and a sense of security has been ours since that time. we no longer fear God, but we love and worship Him, and are more and more conscious of His sure and ever-present help. We certainly have every reason to be thankful to God, our shield and protection, also to Mrs. Eddy, our revered Leader, for the many blessings which we have received through Christian Science.
