Christian Science is not a new religion; it is Christianity...

Pacific Presbyterian

Christian Science is not a new religion; it is Christianity reduced to practice. It does not teach that one can be comfortable under sin or error, and it has nothing in common with the shallow optimism which says, "Look pleasant, even if you have a toothache." It heals the toothache, and then there is a reason for looking pleasant. Christian Science deals with causes, not appearances. It purifies the stream by purifying the fountain. Those who are freed from disease by Christian Science testify that the physical healing is as nothing when compared with the moral and spiritual benefits received, which proves this healing to be in no way similar to work performed by "Pharaoh's magicians" or by "false prophets."

The question, "Do Christian Scientists recognize Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God?" is answered in the words of the Christian Science text-book (Science and Health, p. 497): "We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God's image and likeness."
