About six years ago I took my first treatment in Christian Science for headaches, with which I had been troubled for several years. I had often been advised by my brother to give Christian Science a trial, but did not until the headache became so bad that I had it every morning, and every two weeks or so it would last for a day and a night. Much of the time I was obliged to sit up in bed, as I could not lie down. I took the first treatment one day when I felt the approach of a severe attack. The treatment was given me about eleven o'clock in the forenoon, and at two o'clock the suffering was entirely gone. I worked all the afternoon and woke the next morning free and happy. I bought a copy of Science and Health, and had not been reading it long before the liquor habit was destroyed, for which I am most grateful.

I want to tell of another demonstration of divine power, through my own understanding of the truth. One of my ears began to trouble me, and in about two weeks' time I could not hear in it at all. I did not tell anybody about it, not even my wife, but went earnestly to work in Science, declaring the truth as best I could. One day in harvest time, when I was cutting grain, I heard two loud reports as if some one had shot off a gun close by. I stopped my horses to see what it was, only to find that my ear was unstopped then and there. I know that there are yet some obstacles to be overcome, but as I grow in the understanding of this truth I am demonstrating it constantly and seeing them disappear one by one. I am a farmer and dairyman and live about eight miles from Minneapolis, but we drive three miles to the street car to reach our church; having some thirty cows, we are obliged to get up at five o'clock in the morning to be there in time, but we have not been late once in the six years we have attended. I would also like to tell about one of my horses that had a bad attack last spring, when we were busy with our work. This was in the morning, and as he seemed to have much pain I thought it best to call for help; so we called up a Christian Science practitioner by telephone, and in less than half an hour after she got the message the horse was quiet and I worked him in the afternoon. This showed me that every creature is under God's care.

To express in words my gratitude to God, and also to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is impossible, but I strive to manifest it by living in accordance with the tenets of Christian Science as given on page 497 of Science and Health,—to "pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure."
