Christ Jesus overcame the evidence of physical sense at every turn through his higher understanding of spiritual sense. This greatest of Scientists turned water into wine, healed the sick, walked on the water, raised the dead, in contravention of all evidence from physical sense. He nullified all material law (so called) through his understanding of spiritual law.

To us, as a Christian people, Christ Jesus is the way and the Wayshower, and what was possible for him, he declared to be possible for all his earnest followers, for "he that believeth on me," he said, "the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." There is but one law, God's law, and if we work in and by that law, we shall be able to do the same works that Jesus did. If we are sufficiently meek, patient, loving, and persevering, we shall assuredly some day be enabled to obey his commandment, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Meanwhile we are answered by works in the exact ratio of our understanding of the spiritual law as demonstrated by Christ Jesus. The understanding and application of this law is Christian Science, or Christ knowledge.
