I have long felt a desire to express through the Sentinel...
I have long felt a desire to express through the Sentinel my gratitude for my healing, and also for the many other blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. For many years my life seemed to be one weary struggle, and at last I consented to undergo an operation which the physicians said would make me a well woman in three weeks. It was however nearly six weeks before I was even lifted from the bed. After this I gained very slowly, but greater relief followed, until about five years later, when I was again in bed nearly all winter, physicians at this time declaring that there was nothing left on which to build up.
Christian Science had been presented to me, but I would not listen. However, after I had exhausted materia medica, I very reluctantly consented to send for a practitioner. The healing came slowly, but with it came such a sweet peace and restfulness, instead of the worry and anxiety which always had attended the use of medicine. As a result my family are all studying our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the truth has been our only physician for almost five years. I think if I am more grateful for one thing than another, it is for the removal (in a great measure) of the disposition to worry, which always had seemed to be a part of my daily duties.
I am now able to do any kind of work, and walk as far as I like without any of the old troubles. Also, through the understanding that has come to me in the study of the Bible, as illumined by Science and Health, I have been able to help others as well as myself. For all of these blessings I am trying each day to prove my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, our Leader, who has so faithfully pointed the way and has revealed this truth so clearly that all who will may demonstrate it for themselves.
