THE LECTURES

Willis F. Gross lectured on Christian Science Sunday afternoon, Nov. 13, at the Coldren Opera House, before a large audience. He was introduced by S. K. Stevenson, formerly superintendent of Iowa City's public schools, who said in part,—

Whoever helps us to know what the truth is and to follow it, is a benefactor. Personally I know very little of the teaching of Christian Science, but this one thing I have observed, that its followers make daily and practical use of its teachings, and by so doing their lives are made more beautiful and more useful.

The Master said: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." This nation needs all the truth and light it can get, in order to solve aright the questions that are confronting it. A nation is made up of communities, and communities of individuals. That nation only can be great whose God is the Lord. As Christian Science leads the individual to study and apply the great truths laid down by the Master, thereby beautifying the individual life, so will it strengthen the community and the nation, and thus the life of the world.
