In March, 1906, I became interested in Christian Science, and for the first time attended a Sunday service. On my return to Taplow, Buckinghamshire, the next day, I decided to call upon a lady who is a Christian Scientist. I received a warm welcome and was given as much literature as I cared to take. From then till August, 1908, I went to her for help. At the time I took up Christian Science I was in a most miserable condition with a stomach disorder from which I had suffered all my life and for which I had taken every kind of medical treatment, including massage, severe dieting, and a course of health exercises. All this was given up from the day I called upon the Scientist, and I now eat what is set before me without fear, where previously my food had been a terror to me. The lady gave me treatment for some time, in which I gradually improved, and I would not return to old conditions for anything.
In August, 1908, we moved to London, and the following spring, a fresh trouble coming up, I asked help of a practitioner there, as I felt the need of present treatment. I am most grateful for the knowledge of Christian Science, and for the great kindness and help shown me at a time when I was unable to pay for treatment.
Kate Mary Sargent, London, England.
