For many years I was a great sufferer, the pain being at times almost unbearable. I was a physical wreck, suffering from heart, stomach, and bladder trouble, and kidney affection, with hemorrhage as often as twice a day. For twenty-one years I tried many physicians, but failed to be healed with material remedies and applications. For eight years I could not walk.

Five years ago I sought aid from Christian Science. The doctors had informed me that it would be necessary to perform an operation, but I knew that I was too weak to pass through it. When I turned to Christian Science, I thought if it did not do me any good it would not harm me, and I found therein what I had been looking for. I had been praying all the time to get better, but it seemed that my prayers were not answered because, as I afterward learned, I did not understand God aright. The effect of the first treatment in Christian Science was beautiful; it brought me more than I was looking for—a spiritual uplifting which I had greatly desired. That day I walked nine blocks and did not feel tired, and it did not hurt me, much to my surprise. Under the physician's care I had not been allowed to eat what my appetite called for, many times being so hungry that I did not know what to do. Now I eat anything I relish and suffer no inconvenience. My health is very good. Christian Science has brought many blessings to me.

I am indeed thankful for the understanding of this blessed truth,—the understanding that God is All-in-all. I am grateful to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for Christian Science.
