Although a Scientist of some years' standing, I sometimes have occasion to ask for outside help, and Mrs. Eddy tells us not to hesitate to call for such help when we are unable to overcome the trouble ourselves. In July, 1906, my little ten-year-old daughter developed very alarming throat symptoms. To satisfy my family, a physician was called to diagnose the case, which he pronounced serious. He put the usual card on the house, and said he would return in the morning to administer antitoxine. About eight o'clock in the evening I called a Christian Science practitioner. In the morning the physician came, and to his amazement found the child so relieved that there was really no reason for her remaining in bed longer, save the fear of the family. About noon, however, when the practitioner called, the child was allowed to get up and go to the table, where she ate a hearty meal, and within a week I took her to Illinois on a visit. She was thoroughly well—perfectly healed, with none of the disastrous after effects usual our of Science.

In December of the same year I called upon the same lady one night for help for myself in an attack of acute lung trouble, and the healing was almost instantaneous, notwithstanding that my suffering was intense and accompanied by alarming symptoms. I arose the next morning well, and was able to resume my usual duties without losing any time whatever from my work! In giving this testimony I am expressing but a small portion of the gratitude that fills my heart with love for our revered Leader, who has given to the world "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," whereby we are enabled to work out our own salvation. I am thankful, too, for her love and foresight in giving us teachers, to aid us in our search for Truth. Each day we are more thankful for Christian Science.
