I am glad of every legitimate opportunity to tell something of what Christian Science has been to me during the past few years. It has indeed meant freedom in more ways than there is space here to mention. Some of the ailments that have vanished were headaches, frequent and often prolonged for weeks, stomach and throat trouble, etc. I now see much better without glasses than I used to with them, and have no trouble from the eyes as before. But the half is not told! All this, however, is but a drop in the bucket compared to the moral awakening, which has been a gradual growth, the salvation from all sense of fear, hate, and discouragement.

For several years before I knew of Christian Science I hated many people and myself worst of all, but I can never begin to tell how great has been the relief in having that awful burden of ill-temper and despair taken away. I have found much physical benefit and infinitely more of spiritual joy and strength in the study of Science and Health. The first time I asked for treatment in Christian Science it was to make myself presentable for my part in the Sunday services on the following day. My face was badly swollen and there was much pain. It was gently explained that what I needed was more dependence on God, and that I was disobedient if I took anxious thought for the morrow. I went home to spend a long evening in study and prayer, and awoke the next morning quite normal and free for the day's duties. I have in this Christian teaching that which has brought me health and keeps me well, and which is a protection from besetting sin. Many of my friends and a few relatives have also been blessed by this truth, and, if these are the fruits of such a slight knowledge of God, how great will the harvest of joy and happiness be when more is learned!

I wish to say that I used to feel that too much was said about Mrs. Eddy, but now my debt of love is daily accumulating for all that her faithfulness has brought to me and my brothers and sisters all over the world. She has simply followed the Master, and I thank God for her and rejoice in all the gratitude given her.
