It is with a grateful heart that I want to give thanks for the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. For several years I suffered from a severe inflammation in the abdomen. This trouble kept growing worse, although I tried everything, and sought healing in famous watering-places, but without any success whatever. In the following November I had again a severe attack of this trouble and was bedfast for ten weeks. The physician gave no encouragement, but rather said that when I could get up I must submit to an operation, for the trouble would become more aggravated.
I then heard of Christian Science, but did not feel that I could accept its teachings, as I believed that God sends us suffering, and that we must bear it patiently. The fear of the operation, however, robbed me of my rest, and as I could not help thinking about Christian Science, I decided to turn to it. I applied to a practitioner, who lovingly gave me treatment. I also attended the services and meetings, and improved daily. I learned that God is Love and infinite good, that He does not send us suffering. I am also firmly convinced that if I strive diligently after the truth, and hold fast unto it, the error will not return. I have gained spiritual understanding in Christian Science, as well as health and happiness, for which I am thankful to God with all my heart. I am also very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for having shown us the way to Truth.
Frau Emma Suckert, Rixdorf, Germany.
