For many years Christian Science has been our only physician, and I want to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for bringing to humanity this healing and protecting truth. Our little boy, now six years old, has never known any other remedy than Christian Science, and we have had many occasions to test its efficacy. Some time ago he was taken with a cough, and before that was overcome measles appeared. The latter yielded almost immediately to the treatments, so that in three days there was no sign of the disease, and the child never realized that he had been sick. He played about the house as usual, but we kept him in because of the fear of others in cases of contagion. The cough was also soon destroyed. Not long after this experience he jumped out of a swing when at its height, injuring his ankle badly. The swollen and painful condition, and the fears expressed by persons who saw him jump, tempted me to have a surgeon examine his ankle, but a Christian Science practitioner quickly conquered this thought and the demonstration was made, leaving no weakness in the ankle and thus proving Truth to be omnipotent.

The physical healing in Christian Science is beautiful, but its preventive power appeals to me strongly, and for this I am very grateful.
