I received many benefits in Christian Science before I...

I received many benefits in Christian Science before I entered the church. The first was a demonstration over an unnatural and protracted parturition. On this occasion, through the power of Truth, the conditions were almost instantaneously changed from inharmony to normality, rendering the birth safe and natural. In another case, one of my boys had treatment for an accident, his hand having been severely injured in a revolving pulley. He experienced no pain after the first treatment, and in a short time the hand was fully restored without drugs or bandage. If I were to give an account of all the good that I have received, and the errors that have been overcome for us in Christian Science, it would fill many pages. With the help of the same practitioner, I have had more recently two wonderful demonstrations over an attack of heart failure, and for this blessing alone I would like to tell the whole world about Christian Science, and in such simple words that the smallest child might read and understand.

I did not come into Christian Science very gracefully, for being in tolerably good health I thought I did not need it, and I studied the books only because I enjoyed good reading. But the time came when I was forced to acknowledge the truth of every word I had read, and was thankful for having read them. I had to study Christian Science to show me how truly ignorant I was, and now I would not give up the knowledge of it for all the other literature and sciences extant. As to our beloved Leader, "the toiler tireless for Truth's new birth" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 386), I am trying to abide close to her loving message, to follow her so far as she follows Christ.
