For two years I was a miserable sufferer from appendicitis...
For two years I was a miserable sufferer from appendicitis and nervousness caused by overwork. I spent two months on a ranch in New Mexico, thinking that a carefree and open-air life would restore my nerves at least, but I was no better when I returned; so with my mother I went to Colorado and spent the summer, hoping I would be benefited and able to resume my neglected school work, but alas I was able to attend only three days. All the following winter and spring I was in a condition of suffering which made existence miserable, both to myself and my people.
At last it was suggested by a stranger who called one day, that I try Christian Science. Much to my displeasure, my sister and mother acted upon the advice, and called a practitioner to see me. I was awaiting an operation, which was to occur the following week, and I told the practitioner if he could do anything it must be done that week. I was benefited by the treatment but not cured, so a friend advised me to try another practitioner. I did so, and in less than two weeks' time I was healed.
