I did not come to Science for physical healing, although I was a great sufferer from childhood. I was far more interested in that sublime chapter, "Atonement and Eucharist," in the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I may say that this chapter cleared away forever my doubts on a very difficult subject.

Then came the thought, If others get healed, why not I? So I decided to call in a practitioner. At his first visit I did not like the treatment at all, and wished he would go away, but later I felt much better. At the second visit, the same thing occurred,—I felt quite sick, and heartily wished the good man elsewhere. It was, however, the meeting of error with the truth. At the third visit, the terrible illusion of belief in the law of heredity was dispelled, and I was healed of a serious affection of the stomach. I do not know how I was healed, but this I do know, that, whereas I was once almost constantly sick, now, even in the midst of much seeming discord, I am neither sick nor sorry.

I am very grateful to Almighty God for the revelation He has given to us, in these latter days, through Mrs. Eddy, of the great saving and healing truths, as taught by our "elder brother," Jesus the Christ. Take heart, discouraged ones! "Greater works than these shall he do"—thus spake the one who is declared to be the brightness of the Father's glory; the express image of His person; and who "proved Life to be deathless and Love to be the master of hate" (Science and Health, p. 44).
