"NO RESENTMENT—ONLY COMPASSION."

Recently the Brooklyn (N. Y.) Times, in commenting upon an attack which had been made upon Christian Science, said,—

It may be well to note the soft answer that the Christian Science publication committee will indite for the critic. It will as surely come as will the sun rise tomorrow morning. It will breathe a better spirit than do his utterances. It will be broader in scope and will exhibit no resentment—only compassion. Then, if the critic is a brighter man than his sermon would indicate, he will see a great light.

It is gratifying to note that the merits of the work of the committee on publication are gradually finding recognition at the hands of observing newspaper men, who see in this work a legitimate effort to correct misstatements rather than an attempt to "get back at" a critic. The sole purpose of the committee on publication is to set forth the truth about the one subject in which he is vitally interested, and in which he knows the whole world would be similarly interested could it but be brought to see this truth.
